I was born in 1948 and still have memories of the last TRULY patriotic American Republican President, Dwight David Eisenhower. Ike fought AND won a for REAL war against freedom. In addition, in his last speech as he was leaving office, Ike WARNED ALL Americans AGAINST the dangers inherent in the Military/Industrial Complex. Ike understood what America has since forgotten, war only breeds more war, hatred only breeds still more hatred.
I have, since the very first time I voted, been a Democrat. Unlike Strom Thurmond, who ‘jumped ship’ over the issue of intergration, I remained loyal for one simple reason, “We the PEOPLE” have always been FIRST and FOREMOST on the hearts and minds of Democratas. Unlike President Bush who said the Constitution is ‘just a piece of paper’, I believe the Constitution to be a sacred contract between those who died for the birth of America, those who have died since defending America’s freedoms, those who have died most recently defending the honor of the Bush family name, and those of us who ‘die daily’ seeing the GOP besmirch this document with such impunity. As I have stated within this blog, I was there that day in Boston. I was on the Arizona and am STILL there. Am I a patriot? DAMN RIGHT I AM!!! The question is, Are You?
